A Short Prayer

Heavenly father, I confessed and repented of my sin. I humbly ask for your forgiveness. “Let thy mercies come also unto me, O Lord, even thy salvation, according to thy word (Psalm 119: 41). The entrance of thy words giveth light: It giveth understanding to the simple (Psalm 119:130). Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path” (Psalm 119:105). Please command your words to stay in my heart (mind) forever. Thank you, Father, in Jesus name I pray, Amen.

Obeying the Voice of God – (PART ONE).

In Previous writings, we clearly showed from the Holy Scriptures that “GOD” is a title used by Jehovah God, the God and Father of all things. He also gave his name to his Son (who is affectionately called) Jesus Christ and he also gave his name to the Holy Ghost (Holy Spirit). This is clearly written throughout the New Testament scriptures, as; “God the father, God the son and God the Holy Ghost”.

In studying the Holy Scriptures, we have to keep this truth in our minds and nourish it as long as we live: That God who created us, is the only living God (Deuteronomy 5:24) and that he loves us so much “that he gave his only begotten son (Jesus Christ), that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). Since God so loved us as his creation, he expect us to love him also as our creator. Loving God is, believing him and obeying his voice.

To encourage ourselves at this time, let us start with a reason for studying the Holy Scriptures. The Lord spoke through his prophet Hosea, said, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee” (Hosea 4:6). These words were spoken to inform the children of Israel in those days, of the coming destruction that was determined upon them and the reason why it was coming; since they were chosen to be a peculiar treasure unto God above all people. (Deuteronomy 19:5). God was true to his word. The word spoken by his prophet Amos, saying “Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the Prophets”. (Amos 3:7).

In reviewing the words spoken by the prophet Hosea, (Hosea 4:6), it is clearly shown that the people lacked knowledge; because they rejected the knowledge that was given to them by the voice God through his prophets and by his written words (the Law). This was a lesson to that generation then and a lesson forever to every generation thereafter. For this reason we are to seek and accept all the knowledge (things spoken by God) in the Holy Scriptures that the wrath of God does not come upon us, which could destroy us. Let us accept the knowledge of God our creator so that we will have peace with him. We have all the knowledge we need in the Holy Scriptures (old and New Testaments) we just have to seek (study) it. This is the best reason we find to study the Holy Scriptures. Therefore, let us be joyful when we see the truth and let share it with others.

The fall of Adam (the first man) is widely known; how he disobeyed the voice of the Creator (God). Adam was the first man God created to live on this earth. ‘Wherefore, by one man sin entered into the world and death by sin: and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned” (Romans 5:12). However, according to the Holy Scriptures, sin (disobeying the voice of God) started with one angel (Lucifer) in Heaven. This rebellion over time spreads to include a third of the angels: who were expelled from heaven with Lucifer; who is now called Satan or the Devil.

As it is written, the prophet Ezekiel, prophesy (speaking from the voice of God) concerning the prince of Tyrus; likening him unto Lucifer. “Thus saith the Lord God; Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty (Ezekiel 28:12)… Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so… (Ezekiel 28:14).

Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee (Ezekiel 28:15). By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, o covering Cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire. (Ezekiel 28:16).

Thy heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground." .… (Ezekiel 28:17).

From the previous verses of Ezekiel chapter 28 we see where God created Lucifer as one of the highest (in hierarchy) Angel in heaven (a covering Cherub). God said he created him perfect until iniquity (sin) was found in him. We can also conclude from the words of the Lord that he had at least one other option (it is called CHOICE). Later on in our study we will see where Adam was given the same options called CHOICE. Lucifer obeyed his heart (mind) rather than obeying the voice of his Creator (God).

The prophet Isaiah also spoke from the mouth of God, likening the king of Babylon to Lucifer, who is the beginning of all evil, (Isaiah 14) saying, “How are thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! (Isaiah 14:12). For thou hast said in thine heart (mind), I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God … (Isaiah 14:13) I will ascend above the heights of the clouds: I will be like the Most High (Isaiah 14:14).

From the words spoken by Isaiah the prophet, Lucifer wanted to be like the Most High (God). Later in the lesson we will see where (Genesis 3:5) the Serpent said to Eve (Adam’s wife) “For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods (God) knowing good and evil.” Here we see Satan using his ability of suggestion to influence the heart (mind) of Eve, to believe that she could become like the Most High (God). He wanted Eve to become like him (Satan).

At a later time, according to the Holy Scriptures (Holy Bible) the Prophet John spoke of Lucifer, (Revelation 12) saying “And there appeared another wonder in Heaven, and behold a great red Dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven Crowns upon his heads. (Revelation 12:3). And there was war in Heaven: Michael (Jesus Christ) and his Angels fought against the Dragon; and the Dragon fought and his angels {those angels that believed in him} (Revelation 12:7). And prevailed not; neither was there place found anymore in HEAVEN. (Revelation 12:8). And the great Dragon was cast out, that old Serpent called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him (Revelation 12:9) And his tail drew the third part of the stars of Heaven (Angels), and did cast them to the EARTH.” (Revelation 12:4).

In the pages of the Holy Scriptures we see the activities and fall of Lucifer (Satan). We also see the fall of a third of the Angels of Heaven. They were thrown down to the earth. They are among us as fallen angels (evil spirits). In part two (2) we will continue with “disobeying the voice of God” on Earth.
